- Jul 6 - The Greg Osby Four with Jason Moran-piano, Tarus Mateen-bass, Naheet Waits-drums. 8:00 PM at the University of Arkansas Fine Arts Concert Hall on the Fayetteville campus. Tickets are $8.00 general admission, $6.00 for North Arkansas Jazz Society members, and $5.00 for students. - Jul 7,8 - Fifth Annual Louis Jordan Tribute set to be largest ever. Jordan's widow, Trout Fishing in America, Greasy Greens, Bob Boyd Sounds, more to join yearly July 7-8 celebration of Arkansas history and heritage at Vino's and the Little Rock Public Library. Saturday, July 7, is electric night; Sunday, July 8 - Jordan's birthday - is acoustic, non-smoking night. Doors open at 6 p.m at Vino's Saturday and 4:30 p.m. Sunday. Although both nights are all ages shows, children 12 and under are free Sunday. A panel discussion, moderated by Little Rock author Bill Jones, is also planned for July 8, to begin at 1:30 p.m. in the Darragh Center of the Main Library, 100 Rock St. in the River Market in downtown Little Rock. Jordan's widow, Martha Jordan of Las Vegas, who was present at the 1998 Tribute and for Jordan's 1998 induction into the Arkansas Entertainers Hall of Fame in Pine Bluff, is slated to be on the panel, as is Al Bell, Stax Records and Alpine Records executive and also a Brinkley native.
