  • Feb 22 - Phil DeGreg with the NSU Jazz Band. 8 p.m. at the NSU Jazz Lab in Tahlequah, OK. Phil was a member of Woody Herman's Young Thundering Herd, and has performed with many notable jazz artists including Slide Hampton, J.J. Johnson, Zoot Simms, Junior Cook, Bobby Watson, Mark Murphy, Ira Sullivan, Carl Fontana, Richie Cole, Eddie Harris, Claudio Roditi, Stanley Turrentine, Billy Hart, and Randy Brecker.   • Feb 23 - DIANNE REEVES at University of Central Arkansas, Conway. Nominated for three Grammy Awards, this Blue Note/EMI recording artist is a songstress extraordinaire, a natural storyteller whose music ranges from jazz to R&B to contemporary pop. Her newest CD Bridges includes jazz-infused renderings of songs by Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen and Peter Gabriel. Appearing with her quintet, this international talent brings to central Arkansas a taste of the best of contemporary jazz. This is a Heartland Arts Fund Program with major support from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Arkansas Arts Council. Tickets $15 and $10.   • Mar 3 - Charlie Chrysler & His All Stars - Riordan Hall, Bella Vista AR (501) 855-8170, 1st Annual Mardi Gras Dance / Community Arts Center Fund Raiser Saturday, March 3, 2001 - 7:30-10:30 pm

  • Mar 5 - The NSU Jazz Band with drummer Jimmy Cobb. 7:00 pm in the NSU Center for the Performing Arts in Tahlequah, OK.. Mr. Cobb is seen universally as one of the most influential drummers in the history of jazz. His presence on significant recordings such as Miles Davis' Kind of Blue is proof of his prominence as a first rate rhythm section member. He has also performed and/or recorded with other note worthies such as John Coltrane, Billie Holiday, Wes Montgomery, Dinah Washington, and Joe Henderson.
