August 1998
- August 23 -- Arkansas Jazz Heritage Foundation Annual Meeting and Fundraiser at the Capitol Keyboard Recital Hall in Little Rock, AR. Annual meeting starts at 2pm, the fundraiser starts at 4pm. Good music and food, and a silent auction. Call (501) 228-9999 for more information.

- September 11 -- Take Five Series features the Tom Richeson Quintet. 5:30pm to 7:30pm on the Decorative Arts Museum Lawn at 7th & Rock. Admission free for Arts Center members, $5 at the door for non-members. Food, wine, beer, soft drinks available with a different restaurant sponsor every week starting with La Scala Restaurant. In case of rain to to Arts Center in MacArthur Park.
- September 11-13 -- Hot Springs Jazz Festival in Hot Springs, AR. Headliners include Terence Blanchard, Tom Cummings Quartet, Shirley Chauvin, and Shades of Blue Airforce Ensemble. Call (501) 767-5482 for tickets and more information.

- September 23 -- The University of Arkansas presents The John Adams Quartet.3-5 pm Clinic on Jazz Improvisation and Small-group concepts, 8pm John Adams Quartet concert in the Fine Arts Concert Hall in Fayetteville. This is a world class, straight-ahead jazz ensemble. A $4 donation will be collected for admission to go towards the NAJS scholarship fund for U of A jazz studies music students. - September 25 -- The North Arkansas Jazz Society presents "La Orquesta de Jazz Y Alto Maiz," an eleven piece Latin Jazz Ensemble, at the Jones Center in Springdale. Wear your dancing shoes!
