Historian/musician/discographer/collector/broadcaster
Tenor saxophonist from the big band era and continuing into the present. More than fifty years involvement with playing jazz, writing jazz articles, interviews, record reviews, and building a large archive of jazz recordings, books, and memorabilia.
Presently programming and presenting jazz for public radio. Articles in Coda, Jazz Journal International, International Association of Jazz Record Collectors. Record reviews and interviews for seven years in Cadence magazine.
Acknowledged discographical contributor for artists Stan Getz, Zoot Sims, Gerry Mulligan and Shorty Rogers. Writer of liner notes for Jazz Mark Records.
