Steve Struthers on Guitar
[Little Rock, AR.]
Guitarist Steve Struthers performs at the Monday Jazz Project at the AfterThought, Monday November 3, 2003, 8 pm, $5 cover. Steve's trio will include Joe Vick,bass and Dave Rogers, drums.
Steve Struthers bio:
A member of the UALR Music Department faculty, Mr. Struthers teaches guitar for the university music students. He also teaches noncredit guitar for adults and children through the Community School of the Arts. Steve has developed an impressive reputation as a performer and teacher. In the professional music community, Steve is regarded as one of the finest guitarists in the region - a true musician's musician.
Although essentially a jazz guitarist, he is equally at home with rock, pop,and blues music. Struthers has performed in Canada, Greenland, and throughout most of the United States. He has played with such notables as Herb Ellis, Pharoah Sanders, Johnny Winter, Eddie Harris, Art Porter, Sr., Charles Thomas, as well as in concert with famous groups such as Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, and Iron Butterfly. The Community School is very fortunate to offer guitar instruction through Mr. Struthers.
