Monday Jazz Project at the Afterthought features

Who say's you can't make it as an independent recording artist, guitarist Mark Elf sure has burst that bubble with his latest release 'Dream Steppin'. The CD garnered the top spot on the Yellow Dog National Radio Jazz Chart in May 2002. This is his 7th top spot on National Radio Jazz. The entertaining Elf returns to Little Rock's Afterthought October 21, 2002, 8 p.m., joined by Joe Vick on bass and Dave Roger on drums. The Monday Jazz Project monthly jam session follows on October 28, 2002 with a house trio featuring Dan Sieckman, Joe Vick on bass, and Dave Rogers at the drums. 8 p.m., $3 cover, $1 jammers. Musicians can sign-up for the jam in the Afterthought Foyer.

The Arkansas Jazz Heritage Foundation sponsors the Monday Jazz Project with support from the Afterthought, and the Hilton of Little Rock. Monday Jazz Project is now the longest running weekly jazz Venue in Arkansas. The Monday Night Jazz tradition has served up live jazz since the middle 70's on Monday Nights. Our latest reincarnation The Monday Jazz Project, has entertained listeners since December 1995 without loosing a beat. The Arkansas Jazz Heritage Foundation is celebrating 10 years of jazz promotion in 2002.
