Herman Green
Legendary Memphis Saxophonist Returns to Monday Night at Little Rock's Afterthought

Monday October 7, 2002

Saxophonist Herman Green returns to Little Rock for the Monday Jazz Project Trio at the Afterthought, Monday, October 7, 2002, 8 PM, $5 cover. Herman is a native of Memphis TN and still makes it his home. Herman is one of those Memphis Jazz cats like pianist Charles Thomas who did not leave home to Chicago or New York, at least not permanently. He has played saxophone seemingly with everybody. Just to drop a few names that list includes Phineas Newborn Jr., Calvin Newborn, Miles Davis, Lionel Hampton, John Coltrane, and Cannonball Adderly.

Joining Herman on Monday's performance are Buck Powell on piano, Joe Vick on bass, and Dave Rogers on Drums. Herman Green's photo attached, but check out more info and photos of Herman at his website,
